NEW ZEALAND BOWLING ASSOCIATION.
Tho adjourned meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association, held in the Grand Hotel last night, was attended by Messrs J. Hislop (president, in tho chair), T. Moodic, VV. Allan, T. Smith, J. M'Dormld, J. H. Hancock, "VV. Wilson, W. Crombie, M. Sinclair, G-. Capstick. J. Wedderspooh. J. R. Monson, Captain M'Kinnon, D. Baxter, R. E. Wilson, and R. X. Wheeler (hon. sec). The committee appointed at last meeting to report upon tho selection of vice-president recommended Mr John Morgan, of I'ort Chalmers, for that position. The recommendation was unanimously adopted. A letter was read, ironl- Mr E. C. Ashby (presidont New Zealand Bowling Association) in reference to tlie date- of the tournament, to bo held at Christchurch, for the ensuing season, stating that the month of January would bs most suitable.—lt was resolved that the tournament take place at Christchurch on the 16lh January, 1899. A letter was read from Mr Thomas Lock, lion. sec. Invercargill Bowling Club, notifying that, it is the intention of tho Invercargill Olub to hold a bowling tourna-ment at Easter, 1899, and that they expect tho association to recognise it. They r,.150 expect the Oamaru people to give way, and suggest that the Easter tournaments be held alternately at Invercai-gill and Oamaru.—Mr Crombie intimated that it was the intontion of the Oamaru clubs to hold a tourr.ament at Easier.—No decision was arrived at.
