THE ARRIVAL OF THE PAKKHA; . The Harbourmsster wrote:—"l have the honour to i-pport that the steamer Pafeeba %l tlVl d R o Port C^lolers en the morning of the" 22nd itisS. aiid was berthed at; the George street 'pier' on tha IrsS quarter (tbb draught 18ffr 7in), and- immediately afterwards commenced receiving cargo to complete her loading for London . From inquiries I find thai; threa vans of mutton were railed from Burnside to the Pakeha at Oamaru m order to make rodm for meat ia the Barnside frefzing rooms. The following cargo has been shipped per Pakeha since her arrival, incresging her outward-draught by: 2ft:—Bsoo carcases of mufctdu, 700 ba!e< of wool and skins, 2W casks of tallow, and 260 tons of coal.v In reference to the extract from the North Otago Times stat-iuc that the Pakeha Was placed alongside of » caal hu<k at Port Chalmers to avoid payment of dues.it was in his bpinioa too absurd to merit any serious consideration, the-statement being uutrue and misleading. It had evidently been made in ignorance of the facilities and accommodation for handling cargo etad Coaling at tb.3 port of Danerliu."—Consideration of the letter was deferred till next melting; ;
