EDUCATION BOARD BUILDING.

TO THi! EDITOB. Sir, —There is one statement in your leader , of this morning requiring caireation. Ido not wiah to see the iaspectors unnecessarily dragged into the maelstrom of judicial enthusiasm now surging around the board table. You state in your leader: "Witness the alterations the architect made in the Wai&re.ka School afc the instigation,1 apparently, of the school inspectors"; and I would point out to "you that there was m evidence adduced at the inquiry that the in,< specters either knew of or approved oE th< alterations. Mr Somervilie stated, that MiFitzgerald approved of the AUanton School; but the Waiareka School is 29ft in width, the Allantoa Bchool only 21ft. Indeed, the plans of the Wtiareka School are cotv referred to them (the to report; thereon. —I. am, &c, John F. 22. Fkaser. [The following extr3ct from the report of the proceedings on' the 18th nit., relating to the Wf.is.reka School, has evidently been overlooked by our correspondent:— Mr P. B. Fraser-asked the architect why he made it so wide, and the Architect replied that he did so with the approval of the inspectors.— Mr P. B. Frsser objected to their inspectors having the power to put up the board's buildings in that way, and making them of such great width, without the authority of the board. —Ed. O.D.T.]
