EVANGELISTIC SERVICE.

At the Garrison Hall yesterday the Rev. D. O'Donnell, sa Australian evangelist, gave threa addresses. In the morning, at 11 o'clock, when there was a very large attendance, Mr O'Donnell spoke chiefly to believers, delivering sn address that was fail of illustration and pith and power. The audience were moved' to smiles and to tears as the grave and gay were | brought • before them, and the address made r. deep impression on the meeting. In the afternoon Mr O'Donneli gave a lecture on " The In< I spiration of the Bible," and for nearly an hoar another large audience listened with rapt attention'to the speaker's words. Iv the evening the place ,was packed Eome time before the beginning of the meeting. Mr O'Donnell's subject was "Eternal Life: A Gift." The immense audience listened to him with breathless attention for about an hour, end a profound impression was made on all present. The first part of the service—the prayers and the reading of the lesson3—was conducted by the Eer. T. ,\Y. Newbold, and special mnsic was played during, the evening by the Hutton Oratestca. The.choir, conducted by Mr Hutton. i%ng.«. number of Sarikey's hymns, and Mr Ross aanjf a solo, " Shine as the stars." Snbwquent to, the evening service there was a meeting, at which saveral hundreds remained. The Rev. Mr • O'Donnell, assisted by the Rev. Mr Newbold, gave addresses, with spicial appeals to the undecided. There were several saekers fo; salvation st the close of the meeting.

Daring the week there will be gctvicss in the City Hall every evening at 7.30, whan, the Rev. Mr O'Donnell will be assisted by a large choir and the Huttoa Orchestra. There will also ba t.\lks to men and women from 12.30 to 1.30. Next Sunday tha services will be continued, and on the following Monday ifc ■will conclude with a lantern lecture on " The Half Land."
