Auckland, March 25.

William Glen, while undergoing an operation on the eye at the Auckland Hospital yesterday, died under chloroform. At the inquest tha medical evidence was to the effect that the examination before showed that, -while the heart was weak and one lung was not ■working very well, there was co apparent danger from administration of the drug. Shortly after tha drag was administered the patient" began to struggle, and ths administration was continued, as it was less dangerous than to stop it. The jury returned a verdict of " Deathfrom ruptme of the heart, reanltiag from a diseased condition and struggling while under chloroform."
