The report of the Parliamentary Select Committee favours the construction of a tunnel ia preference to a bridge connecting Sydney with North Sydney,; and recommends that if the Government intend to carry out the work in a reasonable time they should not grant concessions to any private syndicate. SHOOTING COMPETITION. At the National Rifle Association meeting Lieutenant Keating, who attended the rifle meeting at Oamarn, won the Quses-.'s Championship for the fourth time. His score on the present occasion ia 370. M'Gregor and Parsons (the Nflw Zsalanders) scored 348 and 333 respectively, and each receive a prize of L 5.
