Sic, —Thanks to "Veritas " for his reinaiks on the above. Unfortunately the confounded affair is -almost started. It is a pity he did not take the matter up sooner. I suppose he has a little mining spec on —a sure investment to the promote™, you know. A good idea writing from Auckland—does away with any feeling that might exist as to the little ring here having anything to do with the matter. I will help "Veritas" all I can—that is, as far as our mutual interest is concerned. In the meantime " Veritas " might collect a few (Timaru) Roslyn and Mosgiel yarns and seed them along with correct address,'and I may be able to give him a few points to work on.—l am, &c.', September 12.
