Detaihs of the Mile Swimming Championship show that after passing the half-mile Gormley was almost on terms with OaTill, bat the excursion steamers forced them out of their course. CaTiH Bopu . reotified this, but Gormley gave up. Leo beat Hosy bj 50 yards. ■ Sfcratton, of Chrißtchurch, also started. The time for the first half-mile was H-min 2sec: In the inter-club harsdioap, Bailey (Auckland) finished seoDnd in his beat. ■ '
