PALMERSTON MONTHLY SALE.

Messrs Wiiksht, Stepiienson, and Co. report as follows :—We held our monthly sale at Palnierston yesterday (Friday). There was a good entry of stock, pirriciilsrJy c-f cattle, of which 7S hiwd were forward. For grown bullocks there, was fir competition at prices varying from £5 to £o. Young cattle also met with inquiry, tiro-ymr-olds fetching £3 to £4 and yearlings 23s to 355. Cows, on the other hand, both dry and dairy, were almost unsaleable. Crossbred ewes brought S3, and crossbred lambs (fat) 8s 6d.

' GORE STOCK SALE. The J. G. Ward Farmers' Association of New Zealand report having held their usual fortnightly sMa at Gore yards on Tuesday, the 14th inst. The entry was only a medium one, and included a line of station sheep mid only a very small entry of cattle. There were numerous sheep buyers forward, and every lot cleared at price* .equal to Is to 2i per head over prices ruling this time.last year. So real prime fat sheep forward. Medium sort", mix^d vexes, brought lOsto lls each ; two-tooth slieev, which couutotseri tbe greater p,rt of the entry, from 7s fid to 9s. according to size and condition ; ewes, with lambs at foot, ranged from 7s to 10s 2d, with lambs given in.
