The recent alteration in the date of appointment of the hew house surgeons would allow of due notice of any change in the outpatient arrangements being notified to candidates. lam farther directed to lay before you a requisition for an instrument table (for use at opsrsitions) composed of glass and iron, which could be locally, satisfactorily, and speedily made at a cheaper rate than it could be imported for. Tbe honorary staff wish you also to bear in mind the requisitions previously forwarded, including one for an imported operating table of glass and iron, and a suitable instrument cabinet of the oame materials. Lastly, at the appro*ching Medical Congress there will bo a full display of surgical instruments and appliances, and in view of the very defective armamentarium at present possessed by the hospital, the honorary staff beg to ask for authority to spend' £25 or £30 at least on suitable and urgentlyneeded requirements, which cm be chosen 'from those placed on exhibition." — After lengthy discussion it was resolved not to alter by-law 87.; that the trustee* could not see tbeir way to comply with the in referonce to the outdoor department; that the request for a small table be granted; and that any instruments required must be requisitioned for in the uiual way.
