ceived:—
A Wellington telegram states that the Wellington Racing Club's balance sheet shows, including a balance of £239 from last year, a profit of £531 4s 6d. The sum of £3773 was given in stakes, and £3536 was received from the totalisator, of which £571 was paid in State tax. Considerable expense was incurred in repairing damage by storms, otherwise the report would have been more favourable.
