The adjourned annual meeting of parishioners was held on Thursday evening,, the Yen. Archdeicon Boaumont beinc in the obair. . ■

The treasurer (Mr S. M. Wakefitld) read the repnrt'as. follows:— .'..', ■

The vestry in submittiKg their report and statement of iiccounts bestj sfcata that the ieceints from all 'ourcesamoutit to £iSO 11s sd, whilst the epetiGiture (inclusive of a,debtor balance of £72 13s 6u brought' torwa*d. from: the previous year) has been £510 1S« b"d, showing a deficiency in the shanu of a bank overdraft of £80 7s Id. .This deficiency is to a certain extent owing to the uciortuaate change of the annual balance irorn December to June, a portion of the revenue for tha half year from January to June not having bean yet col eoted. . -. .

One most gratifying feature iv the balance sheet is the increase in the voluntary offertory, which compares favourably with' past years. The vestry cannot too strongly emphasise the duty ami import-asce of systematic voluntary giviDg. The envelope system iis in this respect au admirable one, anrt the vs'stry again invite those who do not contribute in this'way to do so. The church and-school buildiuga are now in an excellent ttate of repair, both buildings having been repainted in two coats. The church hasaUo been thoroughly repaired and rerpofed, and is now acmally stronger than when built—nearly a quarter of a century ago. ".. '■' ■ The repairs have -been carried out under the; supervision of Mr Burnsido. architect, Duoedin, aad the work was,contracts for.and satisfactorily done by Mr V. .A. Miller, builder, Law-' rencH.; at a cost of £75.- The funds for this moat necessary work have beau entirely provided by tho Indies Guild, and to them, our most hearty, thanks are due. ■■".■■ ■" ■.-.•' ■ ■■■'".

Iv connection with the repairs to the church cordial thanks are due to Mr K. Herbert for his git t of the felting for the roof,' and to Air J. H Jackson for defraying the cost df renewing the baize on the inner doors ; also, t&Mrs Herbert frr the beautiful inscription over the communion table. The ruatter of renewicg the fence round the psrsoaage grounds, referred to in last year's report, has received attention, and this work has been satisfactorily carried ont.

The numbev'of scholars on the Lawrence Sunday school register is 9a feirls 50, boys iii), the average atteodance boing t'fl. The library will shortly be increased by the tiddil.ion of a numbur of books expected from England. The beat thanks of the vestry anci parishioners are due to Miss Mary Thompson, for hey disinterested and very able services as organist durin;; the r«ur. Hearty thanks are due to the rJioir, and to Mr E. Dimaut (snperinV:ndent). and'the teachers of the Sunday school ThaDks are also due to Mrs Herbert and Mr G. 0. Taylor, collectors for the stipend fuud ; to Mr A. Crcoke for his ze^.l in the collection of the seat renta;: and to the lay reader. The care of rhe church grounds, as in many psj-t years, has ar«in been undertaken by Mr Eerbert, and-his kindness in this direction merits hearty reogcition. '

The report was received and adopted. Mr P. Ufen wan appointed minister's churchwarden, and M? B. M. Wakefield was elected parish chaYchwarden.
