Ihe Queen's Drive Boating Club's social in honour of the representatives at fche late Pictm reg*ttv was'hold on Thursday evening in tha tforeoters' Hsli. There were 60,couple8 present, including Captain and Mrs Cameron and Messrs Braßence (vice-president), W. Innia (captain), John Mill, B. G. Allen, aad J. Watson (mayor). During the evening Mr Bosseuce, in the absence of Mr Jacies Mills (president), presented the various prizes won during the past season ; ako presented the champion craw, on behalf of the president, with taedals »8 a small memento of thoir victory as champions ot New Zealand. Owiag to the late arrival of the Waihora two members of the ccew—viz.. Wrigbtaad Keetiau—were usable to attend, but Mr Pritchard was called on to takn possession of four handsomely-framed illuminated photographs of th&reselves, the present of the club and the work of Mr De Maua; and similar photographs for Mr James Mills and Captain Cameron, the latter responding on behalf of Mr Mills and himself? for the honour the club conferred on them. Daring tho evening songs were contributed by Miss L. Wignall, MiS3 Br&dh. and Messrs Witsou (s.s. Maori), Swan, and Bloxb&m. Misses J. Wagnall and Swan acted as aceompanyiats. The hall wss tastefully decorated by Messrs Mofs and Innis, and Mrs Sutherland was in charge of the refreshments. Trophies wore presented by 25c W. Wilson (silk cs>ps) and' by Mr J. Swan (a medal for tits 100 yds race at tho olub sports). Mr Wilson acted as M.O. of the cauce, and Mr W. 2S&rr's band supplied the music.

A pltasing ceraaiouy took place at the establishmant of Mr A. Sligo last evening* when Miss Cochrane, who. has been 1Q years in the bookbinding department, was the recipient of a uamber of h&ndsonso and useful presents from the members of the family and her fellow employees, on tho occasion of her leaviug to enter on ths holy estate of matrimony. ISr Sligo, in roakhjg the presentatlca, alluded to the very tatttfactory and pleasant relations which bad always existed between Mias Cochrane, biinself, »ud her fellow employees during her long period of B&rvice, and expressed tha hope of all present teat her new departure in life might ba as pleasant and 3ati6*t'ae&ory in every respect as that she was quitting had been, and called on those present to join in wishing health, hsppiuoss, and prosperity to her and her future husband.
