SALE OF WORK.
A sale of work wa3 epenad in the Russell street Mission Hall yesterday afternoon by the senior scholars of the Sunday school which is held there as a branch of First Church Sunday school. There were in connection with the sale five stalls, at which were displayed a variety of articles of the kind usually to be seen at affairs of a similar character. Most of the articles on view were made by the scholars, one of tho stalls containing a number of ornamental and useful things made ot fretwork. The following ara the names of the stallholders : - Work stall — Misses X Commissioug, J. Ueadman, C. M'4.rth»r Agnes Lilljurne, N. Fordyce, M. Parker'; lolly stall—Misses Jessie Alexander and S. Nelson • refreshment stall—Missea Jessie Miller, Annie &mith, 15. Johnstoue, A. Wood, to. Casnpbell Annie Hay, and W. Royds ; flower otall—Misses A. bhund and L. Macintosh. The Christmas tree was in charg., r,f Mrs Brand's class. The sale was well attended both in the afternoon and'evenips good business beicg done by the stallholders In the evening a number of vocal and instrumental selsctions were contributed by ladies and gentlemen present. Piano solos were played by Misses' MLaven, Livingstone, and Braid, and the vocahsts were Misses Morrison and Jessie Low, Messrs C. W. Eannah and Black
