The council trusts the Domain Board will regard either of these proposals as fair. It quite understands the present circumstances of the board, and it will be perfrcUy sa.isfeed to receive the board's letter to the effect that when the board is in a position to do so it will discharge whatever Obligation it may t0 ;CaV^ham^UncU--

In the course of:the discussion which ensued "FTJ ye lvadiDS of letter, Mr Hanqock stated that the Bum now standing to the debit of the batbs account in the books of the Caversham Council amounted to £75 73 7d. The following resolution v?as finally pusged unanimously : —"That the Caversham Council be informed that the board must, as an act precedent to the consideration of the payment to it of any money, insist upon an acknowledgment of tbe board's legal riijh* an:l title to occupation and control of the baths, baildings foreshore, &c, after which the board will be prepared to consider favourably and equitably any claim for compensation." The Chaisman reported that be had, iv accordance with the baard'a iustruotions, ordered five tona marram, which he expected would be here in about a week. A tender which was received for planting the grass was referred to the chairman aiid Messrs Wales and Hanccck to act. '
