A large'deputation representing the dairying interests interviewed the Minister for Railways to-uight and urged a redaction in railage rates on butter and cheese, which they wished to have carried at grain rates. Mr Cadman said that before giviag a defiuita reply it would ba necessary for him to ascertaiu what loss to the railway revenue such a redaction would entail. The_Government had. already made many concessions, and as circumstances permitted wouid undoubtedly make more ; but they - had -to go cautiously, »ud not try to do too much at once. The matter would receive careful consideration.
