Ai the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association five delegated from each island were jireseot. A motion to sfemove.tke head office to Wellington was rejected_ on -the cssting vots o£ Mr Ciifidie (of Mo^iel),' the; phairm'an. It was decided that at each annual meeting five delegates; from eachs island- be appointed to meet briee a year in WeUiDgton to discuss matters affecting -1 the : association; • Upon the reoorn- ' mendstion of ' a committee, - the conference decided to register the assoaiation as a limited company,' with a nominal capital of £2000 in £5 »hires. VTae raeajorandum of association ! wasdr&wnup and agreed to, the. main objects beiag to promote and encourage practical dairying ia all its branches, to uitrbdace and advocate new and improved methods of manufacture by the'iuse bi the latest improved machinery .and appijauces, ,to arrange for standards in.milk, arrange, for the best; means of transit by means of cool railway and steamer accommodation, to arraugs for the best means of placing and distributing surplus butter, cheese, &c., and to establish branches in every district in the colony. Considerable disousaion took'place overthe hesdquart-ars of the association, the North Island members being very anxious to fix them at Wellington. Eventually .it.-was decided Eo determine the matter at the riexb general mestinc;. Messrs Brydone, Stevenson, Stevens, Cuddie, Heenan, King, Oldbatn, Eobbiuf,. Spencer, and Booth were appointed provisional direetorsof the association; Articles of association will be drawn up and submitted to members in both islands before being com-> pleted. . The conference then terminated..
