TAILOKESSES' UNION PICNIC. » Tha Tailoresses' Union picaic, which was held at Quarantine Island yesterday, proved a successful affair. About 800 people weru in ittendance, the steamers lona and Onslow being engaged to convey them to the island. Ihero various kinds of outdoor games were sstemporised, and a regular sports programme was also carried out, while not a few indulged n dancing, the music for which was supplied 3y the Engineers' Band. In the evening a promenade concert was held on the island, the details of the sports are as follow :— Members' Each. — Miss Holmes 1, Miss il'Gregor 2, Miss Swinton S. Members' Kace.—Miss Burgas 1, Miss M'Girr !, Miss Stevenson 3. Apprentices' Race. — Miss Smith 1, Miss swinton 2, Miss Jepson and Miss Dunn (equal):). Outsiders' Race.—Miss Clunee 1, Miss Pope 2, Hiss Holmes 3. Members' Race. —First heat: Miss Pane 1, Hiss Armstrong 2, Miss Mills 3.
