FIJI v. HAWKE'S BAY. Napikb, February 20. The morning opened with tropical heat for the second day of tha Hawke's Bay-Fiji match, Hawke's Bay had to follow on, and in their I second innings made even a worse display than [in the first innings, only putting together 52 runs, of which Sainsbury got 10 and Cato 10. Tho total for the two innings wan only Hi, or 44 behind the Fijian's single Bcorei who thus won by &v innings and 44 runs. A match was played at Carisbrook yesterday afternoon between the Otsgo Medical School Club and the Carisbrook D team. The , Medicals batting first compiled 149 runs. I Child played a uplendid innings for 57. His hitting all round was clean and his cuts were nicely timed. Matthews (23), Gibson (15), and Williams (20) also played good cricket. Tho Carisbrook replied with 97, leaving the Medicals | victorious by 52 runs. For the home team Thomson (13), Howden (15), and Ganltar (11) i batted well. The Carlton Clnb journeyed to Waihola yesterday, und succeeded in defeating the local men by 7 runs. The scores were .—Carlton 19 and 29 (Cornish 12) and Waihola 25 (Scott 7) and 25. J. Wilkie (ten for 18), F. Rowlatt (four for 7), and B. Wilkie (three for 4) bowled well for the wiuuer3, as did Scott (seven for 4) and Murch (eight fer 17) for the losers. The town club wera well looked after by the lccsl clnb, and speak in high terms of praise of tha way in which they were treated by them, and returned home ifter spending a most enjoyable holiday in. the country.
