PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

The regular monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road" Board waa held at Highcliff on Saturday when thore weie present; Messrs Stuart (chair man), .Fairbairn' M'Curdy, Mackay, and Murray. Mr Barmby wrote apologising for his absence.— The motion fixing-the dog tax was rescinded, and the rate was fixed at 2s 6d per dog.—The chairman and. Mr Fairbairn were deputed to wait on Mr Lee with reference to roadline fenced in.—Mr Weipers waited on the board with reference to his claim for compensation for metal alleged -to have bean taken off his land.— It was resolved, to;have the road at once surveyed.—A petition was received from Bottlers in the Anderson's Bay district drawing attention to a nuisance arising from a culvert silting up.— The surfaceman was instructed to see that the culvert was clear so far as the road was concerned, and the board's solicitors are to be again consulted, not so much as to the board's liability for damage arising from a defective culvert put in by a private individual, as to the proper steps to be taken to have the culvert put in order.—Accounts amounting to £3516s were passed for payment.
