EAST v. WEST.
The Match Committee of the O.R.F.XJ. (Messrs Downes, Martin, and Torrin.ee) have selected the following teams to take part in the benefit match, East v. West, to be played on Auguit 1 :—
East.—Full back—Ross; three-quarter backs— M'Kay (University), M'Lennan (Union), Martin (D«nedin); half backs-Harris, Orawfurd, Cran; forwards— Eiquilant lljiEon, M'Laren (Alhambra), Harris, Beadle, Douglas (Union), Gregg (Univerity), Tuiton. Emergencies : Backs—M'Jienzie (Dunedin), Smith (Union); forwards—Boydell, Alexander (Union), M'Kewen (Alhambra). West.—Full back—King; three-quarter backs— Annit, Woods, Davie; half backs—Fordyce (Zingari-Richinond), ManD. Duncan; forvyards— Torrance, Kerr, M'Laren, Ballaotyne (Kaikorai), M'Farlane, Campbell (Zingari-Richmond), Priest, Johnston (Caien). Emergencies: Backs—Macaßsey, Williamson ; forwards—Delalumty, Gawne, Caradus.
Any player unable to play ia requested to send word to the secretary of the O.R.F.U. not later than Saturday next.
OTAGO KKFERKKS" ASSOCIATION. The Executive Committee of the Referees' Association met last night, when there were S resent—Messrs Montgomery (in the chair), Alloo, meaton, and Falconer. The following referees were appointed for to-morrow's matches :— Kaikoraiv. Dunedin—MrH. Smeaton. Alhambra v. Pirates—Mr J. Marshall. Ziueari v. Union (if played)—Mr A. Uownes. Dunedin Second v. Green Island—Mr A. Alloo. Alhambra Second v. Pirates Second—Mr J. a Union Second v. Pacific—Mr A. Cooper. High School v. Warehousemen -Mr D. Tor. laport Chalmers v. Melrose—Mr W. Haydon.
The Naseby Prospectors Club, unquestionably the strongest club on the goldfielde, has opened up negotiations with some of the Dunedin clubs for patches in town during the month of August.-
