SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

Afc tho first meeting of the Porfc Chalmers Dietriot High School Committee Mr John Morgan was elected chairman, and Mr Andrew Thomson was re-elected secretary.

Messrs R. Fisher, M. O'Donnell, H. Hurray, W. Harrison, F. A. Hooper, A. Laing, and G, Marr were elected as a school committee for the St. Leonards district at the annual meeting of householders. Afc the first meeting of tho committee Mr R. Fisher was re-elected chairman.

At the first meeting of the newly-elected committee of tho Balclutha District High School, on Friday evening, Mr John Turnbull was unanimously elected chairman, and Mr H. J. Day secretary and treasurer.

At the first meeting of the Waitati School Committee Mr A. Kilpatrick was elected cha;rman, and Mr A. Watson re-elected secretary and treasurer. The committee resolved to meet on the second Friday of each msnth.

At the. first meeling of the Kaitangata School Committee Dr Fitzgerald was appointed chairman, and Mr Allan Blackie clerk and treasurer (re-elected).

Messrs Ritchie, Drummond, Murray, Macfarlane, Butchart, and Galloway were elected members oE the Dunback School Committee. Tho seventh member wiil ba appointed by the Education Board. Mr Macfarlane was elected chairman, aud Mr Murray clerk and treasurer.

Mr William Grant has been elected chairman of the Outram School Committee, and Mr Churton secretary.
