FOOTBALL.

The Cromwell Football Club have instructed their delegate to the O.R F.U. to vote against the proposal to affiliate with the New Zealand Union. The delegate in question voted in favour of affiliation when the question was before the Otago Kugby Union at the annual meeting. A football match between a Lawrence picked fifteen and Waitahuna was played at Waitahuna on Thursday, and notwithstanding the disadvantage under which the home team laboured in the absence of two good men and the questionable conduct of the referee, were only defeated by four points. The score at the conclusion of the game was —Lawrence 6 points, Waitahuna 2.
