AQUATICS.

EAVENSBOUENB REGATTA. The remaining events of the Ravensbourae regatta came off on Saturday afternoon. For the 20ft Open Boat Race, fiva miles, there were four starters —viz., W. Winton's Carbine, S. James's Jane, M'Lennan's Star of Mersey, and Peter Sutherland's Psyche. The Star of Mersey got away with a good start, but after rounding the first beacon Carbine began to draw to the front, coming in first (time, 59min 30seo), Jane second (3min behind), Star of Mersey third (lmin behind Jane). The Psyche, in rounding the first beacon for the second tjme ; came to grief._ The Dart, being in the vicinity of the accident, promptly picked up the crew, who were none the worse for their dip. For the Boys' Dingey Race, one mile and a-quarter, there wero two starters—viz, H. Davis (scr) and S. Foster (Imin start)—and it was won by H. Davis in 14min. ~r „ Mr Thomas Ross was starter, and Mr D. Larnach hon. secretary and timekeeper. D.A.B.C. TRIAL PAIRS. - The final heat of the D.A.B.C Trial Pairs for Mr R Swan's (vice-president) medals was rowed off last evening. A strong sou-wester made matters very unpleasant for the competitors. Result :— H. C. Hanlon (str.), J. W. Scurr (bow), Mont- _ A Sumvan "(str.), w! Hay-Mackenzie (bow), Lichtenstein (cox) ... 2 Bootenand Houston and Columb and Morton also started. After some trouble the boats were despatched to an excellent start, Hanlon being rather slow in getting under way. Columb took the lead at the wall and led to the wharf, but was passed in the run home by both Hanlon and Sullivan, the former winning by less than » length, the others close up.
