MAYORAL ELECTION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—You will doubtless remember the howl of indignation that was raised only a few weeks ago against the Rev. Messrs ' Qibb and Saunders, because they dared to preach somewhat unfavourably re the commercial morality of Dunedin. We are now on the eve of an election for mayor, and our duty as true citizens should prompt .us to elect a man worthy the position of being chief magistrate of this town. If we by any means fail to do this, the only logical conclusion that can be arrived at is, that the electors by their choice on Wednesday have simply sunk to the measure of their own level, notwithstanding any criticism to the contrary.—lani, &c, A Ratepayer. Duuedin, November 27. .
