SALE OF PASTORAL LEASES.

Invercargill, March 31, A very successful sale of leases of 17 runs, j5 or a term of 10 years, was held at the Court- cl muse to-day by the Commissioner of Crown j-J-Lands. There was a large attendance, and j' ipirited bidding toolc place in several instances; & mt the present lessees all secured renewals, j* rhe keenest competition was for Dunrobin, for which Mr Christopher Basstian was run by Mr q .coullar, of Dunedin, from the upset of L66 to , L 156. Colonel Chalmers, of Mount Linton, clad to advance considerably to secure his b ;hree areas. The increase obtained for the v, sight runs competed for ranged from 30 to 150 ■;, per cent, above the upset. The other nine ■, leases were all sold at the upset. ? ———■»»——■*• g
