THE EKETAHUNA MURDER CASE.

Wellington, March 17,

The second jury in the Eketahuna murder case, in which the two foreigners Harrison and Smith are charged with the murder of James Dalton, came back at 9 a.m. to day. They again disagraedandweredischarged. Mr Gully, Crown Solicitor, applied for a third trial at the present sittings. Mr Justice Richmond hopsd that if tried again it would also have a new judge. Some discussion took place as to the necessity of having the trial this sitting, and eventually the judge .fixed it for May 30, the first d»y of next session, and ordered the sittings to be adjourned from time to time for the purpose. It is understood that nine of the jury were in favour of a conviction and three of an acquittal. _____„„______
