It is to be hoped that this will not turn out to be another " Mick O'Day " track, which took a microscope to discover it, though it cost the Lake County Council LI4OO. According to the latest accounts it would appear that Hotelier, Mondy, and party are tracing the gold into Mr W. Paterson's freehold, which would, of course, mean that only a few acres of Baker's lease would be required for mining purposes. It is also reported that the party is paying Li per week for the privilege of mining on the freehold. In W. Jenkins' claim, where the gold is found mixed through the stuff, a 2oz nugget was found the other day. A similar speck was also been picked up in M. Neylon's claim some time ago.
