It is believed that Davis, one of the levanting directors of the Australian Mercantile and Guarantee Society, was arrested in Shanghai but was released, as there was no evidence of Ins identification. EARTHQUAKE SHOCK. (Received January 2S, at 9,50 a.m.) A severe earthquake shock was experienced at Kiamo, 92 miles south of Sydney The shock, which lasted 20 seconds, extended along he coast line for a considerable distance No damage is reported. i • CRICKET.
