I In the Supremo Court, the case of Vaile vTaccred has bo:n concluded. The Buit was brought by William Vaile, of Oamaru, executor ot the will of Kdward Vaile, jockey, late of Oamaru, decea-cd, against P. F. Tanored, of Cartcrton, racehorse owner. The claim sots forth that Edward Vailo (dececsed) wheu alive ms employed by defendant as a jockey in 1584, and that Tancred contracted to pay Vaile £2(5
per year, and 10 per c;ut, upon all prize money won by him. Deceased had remained in defendant's service for tbreo years, and left bij employ in February ISB7. .The plaintili'a ca<^

the deceased Vaile except for wages, aud eaid that any sums beyond that were given iv way of, gratuities. His Honor considered that the plaintiff had failed to prove the case, and gave judgment for the defendant.
