The orchestrion, which tc.-is one of the principal attractions in the eWe-r-how ground, was offeree! for salu at nuction yesterday morning by Messrs Joraes A. Park ami Co. Bidding w»s started at 50 guineas and was run up to £125, at which figure the orchestrion was passed in.
—The postage stamp will celebrate its 50th annivcisary this year. The invention is due to James Chalmers, of Dundee, who died in 1553, and who finally, with his system, the adhesive postage stamp, conquered the whole civilised world.
