GRAIN REPORT.
Messrs Samukli Our and Co., Stafford etreet, report for the week ending February 18, as folThe weather experienced since last reporting has been very good, indeed so much so that crops a week ago which were thought would not require cutting for 10 days yet are ready for tho harvester, and it may be truly stated that harvesting in nearly every district in Otngo is general, and though many districts cannot boast of the yields they formerly did, it Is pretty nearly ou average of former seasons. Wheat,.—Thia cereal is going from bad to worse, as at auction recently sales of milling wheat have been made at 2s 3d to 2a 4d, so that making sale 3at over this price is a matter of considerable difficulty on this account. Oats.—A few sales have taken place during the past week, but at most unproductive prices, while the markets on the other side show not tho slightest inclination to stir from the late quotations. With plenty of freight offering for Home, our market would bo verj much improved, as prices at Home aro far ill advance of what can be realised either here or in the Australia. We quote : Prime milling, la J^d to Is sd; bright heavy iced, Is 3Jd to la -hi; Inferior, Is 2d to Is 3d (sacks extra). Chaft.—Market rather over supplied, with limited demand. Prime oaten sheaf is worth £2 12s Cd to £3; inferior to medium, £2 to £210s. Potatoes. Supplies of these aro much in excess of the demand, and sales difficult to effect. Prices for prime up to £2 17s 5d ; iuferiorfrom 25s to £2. » ,
