THE OTAGO STOCK EXCHANGE.

An adjourned meeting of the members of this exchange was held at Mr John Davie's office yesterday, nearly all the members being in attendance. Mr George S. Brodrick presided.: A good deal of business of a routine character wai transacted, among other things over 40 honorary members being nominated, and duly elected. The members of the exchange are exerting themselves in the direction of rendering the institution as popular as possible. The rules under which honorary members are admitted, with the privilege of attending any meeting of the exchange, meet with approval, and it is anticipated that by the Ist October fully 100 applicants for admission will have been nominated. Meantime the offices leased in the Colonial Bank buildings are bsing renovated and rendered as convenient as possible, with a view to commencing operations on or about October Ist or 2nd. | A number of the membere of the Gore A. and P. Association met In that towu on Saturday to bid farewell to Mr William Sounesa, who la leaving th» district to settle in the North Island. Mr Sounets had been a member of the society from the beginning, and had clone Rood service in Its interests and those of the town. Mr Souness' health was drunk by those present, aud some speeches suitable to ths i occasion were delivered.
