NOTES FROM REEFTON. (Fbom Oun Own Cobbespondent.) Reefton, July 24. Sootia.—From the ekimmings obtained from the last three days' crushiog 311oz of pressed amalgam was obtained. This is even better than last week, and au excellent scraping is expected on Saturday. The advice received yesterday by the secretary of the Shotover Big Beach Gold Mining Company states that 420z of amalgam was the result of Tuesdays' washing up for two days' dredging, equal to nearly 30oz of gold. The dredge is reported to working admirably. In another column appears the prospectus of the Golden Bar Dredging Company. It is being formed to acquire and work a claim about four miles below the Big Beach claim on the Shoeover river. The capital is to ba £6000, in £1 shares, Mr Andrew Hamilton is the Dunedin broker. The Bhare list of the Eureka Quartz Mining Company, Nenthom, will close on the 3lst iust.
