CRICKET.
Gsange v.; Albion (h'ih'ai ojc ChallcDgo Cup).
After a fortnight's spell on account of bad weather, this match was concluded on Saturday on the Caledonian ground; there was great interest taken in the match, as it was the last cricket for the season. The ground was in capital order, and the caretaker is deserving of praise for the pitch he had prepared. With one wicket down in ths second innings for five runs the Grange commenced to bat, C. Restieaux and Turnbull opening to the bowling of Turnbull and Carr. The third ball from Turnbull. proved too much for Ristieaux Baker joined! Turnbull and things were made merry uutil the' former played one back to the bowler after havingmadenineruns. Currie,Parker,Downes, and Restieaux were soon'disposed of, scoring 11 runs between them. Crawshaw partnered A. Turnbull (who had been batting splendidly), and carried the score to 60 before they were separated, the latter being caught in the long-; field, after having compiled a very serviceable 21. Crawshaw was clean bowled by M'Lennan shortly after for 26, put together by sound cricket. The iauings closed for 79, thus leaving the Albions 133 to make to win. M'Lennan and Hutchinson appeared to do battle for the Albions, but after making five run's the former batsman was well taken behind the wickets by G. Restieaux. Hutchinson soon afterwards followed. '-Crawford, as on the previous Saturday, played well and carefully for 15 runs before he was given out leg-before to one from Espie, who had been put on afc Parker's end. Croxford made 15 runs in quick time, and M'Kinley scored 10 not out. The innings closing for 61, leaving the Grange victors, with 71 runs to spare, and a record of not having suffered defeat for the season. The fielding of both clubs was very good, more especially the winners, Baker again making a brilliant catch. Downes bowled well throughout, getting six wickets at the cost of 31 runs. For the Albion P. Turnbull, M'Lennan, and Carr divided honours, and had good averages. The following are the scores for the second innings : —
