A CHURCH TROUBLE ENDED. Melbourne, January 28,

The congregation of Sects Church, subject to the approval of the Presbytery, have appointed a commission to obtain a permanent minister The dispute existing for some time has been virtually settled.

A conference took place to-day between Mr Gillies and Sir S. Griffith (Premier of Queensland) and Mr John Douglas (High Commissioner of New Guinea). The subjects under discussion were the constitution and the administration expenses of New Guinea. The Victorian Premier stated that the colonies were unanimous in their Tiews regarding New Guinea, and expressed a hope that the Imperial Conference would satisfactorily and permanently settle the affairs of that island.
