THE BLASTING ACCIDENT.
TO THE EDITOIi. Sm—My indignation knew no bounds when I saw in last night's i>aper that Mr William Barnes had again been placed in charge of the Dowling street works, after the lamentable catastrophe which occurred on Monday last, and before even the inquest is finished; I may state* for the information of the public, that he was not put there in the first place by the City Council, nor has he been reinstated by their authority.—l am, &c, : William Dawson, Councillor, High Ward. [We quite agree with Mr Dawson as to the impropriety of the proceeding;— Ed. O.D.T.]
