QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY MATCH. The committee held a meeting to arraiige the preliminaries for the match between the town and country players; which .is to take place in the Club room, Baldwin Hotel, oil the 24th inst. Play will commence punctually at halfpast 7 o'clock, and the visitors will be entertained after the match is over. The country representatives are respectfully requested to forward their names either to the president, honorary secretary, or Mr David R. Hay, draughts editor Otago Witness. It is fully expected that there will be about twenty-five players a^side. So the gathering is sure to prove interesting to the lovers of the game. Visitors will be made heartily welcome.
