Lawrenck, July 26,

The declaration of the poll took placo here to-day in the Courthouse. Mr J. N. Wood, returning - officer, declared the numbers to ba—Brown, 506 ; Oudaille, 322; — majority for Brown, 244; and that J. C. Brown was duly elected as membar of tho House of Represent tatives for Tuapeka. Mr J. C Brown thanked the electors for again returning him for the sixth time, and stated that he was satisfied that thay had done so believing ho was the most suitable candidate, at which there was great cheering. Mr Oudaille was not present. Mr Brown moved a vote of thanks to the returning-officer, which was carried with acclamation.

(Per United Press Association.) Auckland, July 26. The declaration of the poll for Parnellj City North, and Nev.-tcn passed off quietly, no interest bfeing manifested. Wanganui, July 2G. At the official declaration of the poll to day thoro was no alteration iv the numbers. Mr Ballance thanked the electora for bis return. He said he would go to Wellington with the feeling that he had the good-feeling of tho majority of tha electors. Tha other candidates were not present.

Wellington, July 26. The declaration of the poil for Te Aro, South Wellington, and Hufct revealed no alteration in the numbers,

Tho Rangitikei declaration was—Bruce, 587; Stevens, 490. Por Greymouth there are no alterations.

July 27. Tho Paikakariki returns in connection with tha Foxton election have been found, and sent on to tho chief returning-officer at Poxton, where a scrutiny will be made. Including the last return, Mr Wilson has a majority of one, but the declaration will not be made until after a scrutiny has taken place. Telegrams received state that Mr Taiaroa is elected for the Southern Maori, and Wi Pera for the Eastern Maori district.
