ASTONISHING CURE OF CANCERS.

to thb editor. Sir, —In forwarding the accompanying testimonial for publication, I beg leave to make a few observations for the future benefit of the community. Healing by the power of magnetism—as shown by "laying on of hands," by "breathing" on the parts affected, by "willpower" when ordering pains, &c. away, "using magnetised fabrics" for local application, &c;—is at present so little known or believed in by Australasian colonists that they have the utmost repugnance to try its effect, even in cases which haye resisted the skUl of the best medical men ! And yet I have held 15 public healings in this city; and treated more than 500 poor persons afflicted with every kind of disease almost, by the simple but i powerful modes above indicated of imparting this healing magnetism. Many of them have at the time and subsequently acknowledged the benefits received, whilst many have displayed, by the instant recovery of the use of limbs, the extraordinary effect of this magnetic power. Some I know have thrown it away by their own folly in neglecting my injunctions, or tho commonest precautions as to diet, dress, or exposure to the changes of i\ eather. However, what can sceptics and other unwilling believers in everything they cannot comprehend say to the wonderful cure of internal cancer detailed and solemnly deposed to, before his Worship the Mayor, by tbe lady earned in.the testimonial herewith ? Pive of the most eminent doctors of this city having examined her and declared—very rightly—that it was a case of undoubted cancers, no one can blama her prudence in trying the effect of the mighty power of magnetism before she submitted to the dangerous alternative of a surgical operation; and on her behalf I assert that sho has not reflected on the skill of any one of the medical gentlemen mentioned. And I now, with her express permission, invite those gentlemen and all lhß medical profession, as well as the members of tha Press, to come and inspect at my rooms the "cancers" and the supposed " fibrous roots" mentioned iv her testimonial; and she will be happy to attend there at any appointed time to meet any medical gentlemen desirous of making personal inquiries.—I arc,

G. Milner Stephen, " The Australian Healer." City Hotel, July 25. [The declaration is annexed.—Ed. O. D. T.]

I have been suffering for five years from pain, accompanied with considerable swelling down th 9 right side of the body, with very great pain when lying down. Prom time to time I consulted Drs Brown, Blair, Wardale, Coughtrey, and Batchelor, all of whom, after examination, pronounced the cause to be cancer of the womb, and that it would prove fatal unless I submitted to an operation; but some said it would be too dangerous at my age—ss years. After hearing the two last doctors' opinions I went the next day to JVlr Milner Stephen for his "magnetic" treatment. He immediately removed all pain by "laying his hands upon me," and it has never returned; and after two more similar treatments, and using his magnetised salve, oil, and water only, all the swelling has disappeared.

Since then the cancers liave continued to come away. Some of them arid the fibrous roots I preserved in' spirits at Mr Milner Stephen's request, and have given them to him to convince others similarly afflicted of his wonderful power. I now feel as strong and well as I did many years ago; and although I am continuing his magnetic remedies, and attend him once a week to get more magnetism, I believe that the cancers are conquered, two quarts full having come away, and that I shall be thoroughly cured in a very short time. I daily pray to God to bless my benefactor with health arid strength in the exercise of his wonderful healing gift. Many residents on the Peninsula know me and my case, as my husband has a farm there, and I shall be happy to give any furthor information to females on the subject. (Signed) Margaret Farquhar. Peninsula, July 24,1884.

This ia_ the paper writing marked A referred to in the annexed solemn declaration of Mrs Margaret Farquhar, made this 25th July ISB4. •
