Wellington—Rotorua arrived from Picton; sails 3 p.m. for Taramki. Taranaki—Wanaka arrived from Nelson; sails, 2 p.m. for Manukau.

The b.b. Taiaroa airived at Port Chalmers at 5.30 *.m. on Saturday. She left Timaru at 5.10 p.m. on Friday, and hid variable winda to arrival. The ketch Huon Belle completed loading from the Ship Duke of Argyll on Saturday, acd hauled into the Btream in readiness to aail for the South with the first fair wind. •

The U.S.S. Company's s.s. Hawea arrived at Port Chalmers at 11.30 a.m. on 26th inst. She left Nelson a 5 9.15 a.m. on the 23rd ins*;., and reached Picton at 4.59 p.m. same day; sailed again at 8.15 p m., and arrived at Wellington at 1.15 a.m. on the 24thpushed on fcr the South at 2.10 p.m. same day, arriving at Lyttelton at 10.40 a.m. on the 26th; left again at 5 p.m., had variable weather down the coast, and came into port as above. We are indebted to Mr ToueK (purser) for rep;rt and fi!e3. , The brigsntine Zsphyr, coal-laden from Greymouth, reached Port Chalmers at noon on Saturday. She left Greymouth on .the 16th mat., and had strong N.E. winda until she passed Cassade Point, when it hauled to S W., increasing to a heavy gale, which contiauDd till she breasted Stephen? laland on the 20th inst., when the wind basked to the northward, and held from the K ; W. for 24 hour*, suddenly shifting to S. and S.W., blowing a terrific gale for the next 12 hours, when it moderated, and ehe had northerly winds uutil she pused Banka Peninaula on the 23rd inst, when S.W. set in again and continued for 12 hours, followed by light northerly winds until she breisted Timaru; thesce she had strong northerly winds, and arrived off Taiaroa Eead3 at 7 p.m. on tho 25th, arriving aa above. . Tha ketch Kestrel arrived at Port Chalmera on Saturday afternoon, and anchored eff Debarahßay. She left Catlin'a Kiver en the 25th inst., and expsrienced light northerly winda and calms along the oaiat; armed off Taiaios Heada at 9 a.m. on Saturdiy, met a atrong S.W. breeze, and beat up to the aachorage as above.

The s.B Beautiful Star left Oamaru at 3 p m. on Saturday; had strong S.W. winds and nasty head saas along the ccast, and arrived at Port Chalmera at 11.30 p.m

The Victoria Foundry, Wellington, has secured the contract for the contraction of a powerful tugboat for the Brunner Coal Company, to rcp'ace the Lioneaa, which wa3 wrecked on the Greymouth bar some months ago, and the framework of the ve-sel U already in pcaition, although only a few weeka have elapaed since the job was secured. The steamer, which, of course, la to be of iron, is being built on tne Te Aro foreshore, and will be ready for launching by the end of the year. She .will be 1C516 long, will possess a beam of 17ilt, and her depth of hold will be IWft. Her bottom will be very flat, in order to allow her to go over the bar with ease, and it ia ttipulated that her draught of water shall cot exceed 6ft. She will be very eubatantially built, and in thia re=pectwill be superior to any other tug-boat in the Colony. Her großa tonnas. c will be about 100. She will be fitted with the powerful enginia saved from the wreck of the Lioness, and her boilers, two in number, will be from the Victoria Foundry.—Wellington Post.
