Business in the import market generally has been very quiet during the weelf, and there ia little of intereat to report. Of bairging, cornsacka are sellinc io email lots at about 6a 9d per dozen, and woolpacka at 2b ii to 2b 5d per pack. Sales of candles are limited on account ot the pricea required by holdera De Rouba: x's we quote 9|d to lOd per ib, and paraffins lOd to K'Jd per lb. Dried fruits are quiet. Currants are firm at 6Jd per lb, ss. tocka aro not large, and shipments on the way have been purchased at advanced rates. Sultanas are firm at 7Jd per lb; Elemes are dull at 5Jd to 6d lb. In fLh thero ia nothing doing, pricea remaining unaltered. American aalmon is quote 1 7a 6i per dozen : sardines, ts Sd to 93 per dozen for halves, and 5s per dozen fcr quittere. Hops are cnly being quilted in amaU lota st ls 6d to la 7d per lb, but holdera are not pushing aalea at these rates.. In the metal market there is only a quiet demand for No. 8 fencing-wire, leading branda of which are taken up in small lota at £12 16a to £13 per ton ; galvanised iron is dull at £21 to £22 per ton. A fair busineas ia passing in ordinary-teat kerosene at Hid per gallon in bond; special brand? of high-te3t oila command list rates. The sugar market haa not altered during the week. Choice Bnowdropa are in limited 8-jpply, and command £31 to £32 in bond ; but fair whitea are readily procurable at from £2i to £30 per ton, according to quality. Greya and yellowa are taken at £27 to £23 per ton.
