Among his offspring, apart from Le Loup'« full brothers and sisters, were—Templeton (winner of the Dunedin Cup, Canterbury Cup, and innumerable othor races), Betrayer (won Canterbury Cup and Wanganui Cup), Calumny, Natator (winner of C.J.C. Pinole Patchen's pedigree Is as follows :— By Liberty Patchen (son of George M. Patchen Junior) out of Mary Blanc, by Long John out of ,a mare got by a Morgan horse. Long John, by Tlmoleon (son of Boston) out of a mare by Trustee. George M. Patchen Junior, got by George M. Patchen, who was a son of Cassius M. Clay. Casaius M. Clay was by Henry Clay, and his dam was Jersey Kate, said to be by Mambrino, the sire of Abdallah. She was also the data of John Anderson, who wss one of the notables of his time. Cassius M. Clay was one of tho greatest trotting stallions of his day. Fee: Six guineas; groom's fee, 6s. One mare given In five, the property of one owner.
