Horses. Our usual ealo wis held on Saturday last at Dunedin TattersalU. The demand at the present time is hardly S3 brisk for either draught mares or geld'nge, b&t the depre-sion is looked upon as ttmporar>. We quote first-class draughts £35 to £43; medium, £25 to £30; good hacks and light-harness horsos, £15 ta £20; medium, £10 to £18. Wool.—Recent cablegrams from the Home market report the maruet a! firm. sheepskins —We offered and sold a full catalogue at our sale held last Monday. There was a good attendance of the trade, and all the lots catalogued were disposed of, as follows: Butchers' crotsbreds, Ss 4d to 4s; merinos, 3s Sd to it Id; dry crossbredß, Is to 3s 8d; merino--, 2a 4d to 3s 6d. Pigs.—A, large supply forward to-day, ISO being yarded—nearly all in killing condition. These sold at 12s to Us each. We sold for Mr Joseph Wright (Waiwera), eight at 62j; for others, 10 at 51s. Ho transactions in st:rc stock.

Wool.—On Monday we sold a few lots, but as they were only oddments, pricts were low. . ~ "Sheepaklue.-On Monday we oSired a large catalogue, made up chiefly of butchers' green skins. Bidding waa rather brißkor, and prices for prime crossbreds and merino 3 higher. Coarse Bkin3 are in less

favour. Best crossbreds fetched 3s 4d to 63 4d ; others, Is 8d to 3a 2d ; best merinos, 3s 3d to 4S 2d; others, Is to?sßd.

Rabbltekins.—Wo catalogued all lots forward, but as there waa only a limited attendance of buyers and bidding dull, most of them were held over. Those sold brought 13d to 18H per lb. Hides.'—There is no change in values Light sorts are quite neglected, while for extra heavy there is fair demand.

Tallow.—Well-rendered, in export condition, is wanted; medium and inferior is plentiful, and for luch 20s to 26s is offering; butcher*' rough tat sells at 189 to 22s per cwt. Grain.—ln wheat we have littlo change to report. Only extra fine parcels are asked for; but notwithstanding that arrivals have bten up to the average, v«ry little choice hat come to hand. For prime, 4a Sd to 48 4d is obtained; and for good samples r*d ttraw, Jcc, 4s to 4a 3d; inferior and sprouted, of which there <• a large stock, is almost unsaleable at anything boyond chick-feed prides. We sold 600 bushols prime velvet, 4s 3d; 1000 bushels rtd chaff, 4s Sid-;.4000 bushels inf irior, 2s 9d to 33 4d; 1625 bushels medium red straw, 3s lOd. Oats: A fair demand for milling and heavy bright feed for export; locally there ia a quiot trade. Present stocks are liaht, and ws lock for a speedy clearance of all consignment*. We quote' milling Is lid to 3s; coed do, 2s 3d; best bright feed, Is lOd ta la lid; go«d do, Is 9d to Is lOd; inferior and discoloured, Is Td to Is BJd. Tho demand is not very aetivo, but primo camples of willing are saleable ut lost week's quotations—viz., 4s 2d to ia 3d for Tuscan and while vulvet; other Borta, 3s Ud to 4s; fowl feed, 2j lid to 3s Id, according to quality. Oats.—Tile demand is fairly good at recent quotatlonv, say, short bright feed, Is 9d to la lOd; inforiot and discoloured, Is 7d to Is 8d ; milling, Is lid to ia. As tho seed season is getting over, seed lots do not move off so readily. - Barley.—l bave had numerous inquiries for prime malting samples, wnlch are very hard to get 1 have have placed one line during tho week at 4s 6d, but very good malting would fetch from 4s OS to sa. There ia no domand for milling and feed qualities. Potatoes.—Stocks of Dcrwciiti arc i;oi very con slderably reduced, but prices do not thow any improvement. I have made no sales during, the week, but I quote prime quality at £2 8s 6d, bags extra. I have disposed of the remainder of kiduey potatoes on hand for seed at a reduced piice, tho season being now over.

Butter.—l have sovoral consignments unsold, and it ie very difficult to effect sales. Salted, in kegs, cannot bo quoted at over B}d per lb. Cheese.—Tho demand is limited, buyers being fully supplied. I quoto Akaroa at Pi Ito Od per lb. Chaff.—There is a good demand for good oaton chaff, which may be quoted at £4 per ton, bags oxtra."

Gross Seed.—A few lots of ryograss have boen in»iiig off at 4s 0J for machine-dressed, and 3s 9d to 4s for farmer,' lots; cocltflfoot is in good demand at from 4Jd to 5d per lb.
