THE REV. C. FRASER'S CASE.

At the meeting.of the Presbytery tc-jay the following resolutions, moved by Mr Elmslie, were agreed to': — 1. "That in the opinion of this Presbytery, and apart altogether from the charges now pending, the Rev. C; Fraser.having been proceeded against in strict accordance with the constitution and government of the Presbyterian Church, and having"had .every opportunity afforded him of being, heard in his own defence, or of making appeal to the General Assembly, has, in his attempt to' disown tho authority and'escape from the discipline of the Church,"and at the same time to prejudice the minds of the people by misinformation regarding importaut facts, forfeited all right to be regarded as a minister in any branch of the Presbyterian Church." _ _. .■■:-,"'■.::. '.;;,. 2. "That his attempt to retain possession. of the St. .Andrew's CJiurcH property, after it had been l'flcognued by himself and others for.so many years "as the bond fide property of the Presbyterian-Church of' New Zealand, and'on tho pretext that it was given to the Free Church of Scotland by'the Provincial Government ox Canterbury, or harits title based upon the model trust deed of that. .Church, is an act so thoroughly dishonourable.and so unbecoming a minister of the 'Gospel as -to merit'the disapprobation of all Christian people."' 3. "That, full information regarding the merits of tne whole case, and' the line of conduct pursued by Mr Fraser in -opposition to the constitutional procedure of his own Church', be forwarded through', the proper medium to the Free Church.of Scotland, so that; if necessary, the next General Assembly of that church may be in a position to. give a decisive deliverance on the questions that may come before it." ■ .'
