CRICKET.
The Australians' second match at Derby was not against the County, though it was down on the programme as against Derbyshire, but against a_ mixed team of amateurs and professionals, including Messrs C. I. Thornton, W. H. Patterson, L. C. Docker, and E. F. S. Tylecote ; Shaw, Morley, Barnes, Shrewsbury, Maurice Read, and two others.
The team that was picked to play for I Zingari against the Australians (when the latter made 423 for six wickets in their second innings) was a very powerful one. It included Lord Harris, the Hons. A. and E. Lyttelton, Messrs A. P. Lucas, A. G. Steel, C. T". Studd, G. B. Studd, A. H. Evans, H. Whitfeld, W. F. Forbes, and another.
