■ PORT CHALMERS. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., R.M.) Saturday, 10th Decesiber. Breach op Bye-laws.—Ah Chirig, for leaving horse and cart unprotected on the 6th inst., was fined la," and 7s costs,—^Robert Donald, for allowing two cows to stray on the Port Chalmers road, was fined Is, and' 7s costs.—George Groves, for permitting one bull to wander on the Sawyers' Bay road on the 28th ult.', was fined Is, and 7s costs. ■..,,. Threatening Language.'—William Bohanah was charged with using threatening language towards William Bridge.—The defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined ss, and _7s costs, or in dofault 48 hours' imprisonment. CIVIL SIDE. . '■:■ John Drysdale v. Henry Sexton.—Claim £3 8s Gd.—This was a judgment summons, and the defendant was ordered to pay the amount within seven days, or in default seven days' imprisonment. "William Maldnson v. Thomas Thornton.— Claim £110s. —Mr Adams, who appeared for tho plaintiff, accepted a nonsuit. ,:.■: Same v. Samuel Wilson.—Claim 11s 6d.— Judgment for the amount, with 17s 6d costs. Jacob Douglas v. Rosa Stanley.—Claim £18 16s, for damage done to a suit of clothes, hat, and boots, and loss of a certificate of discharge from the Royal Navy while illegally detained by the defendant,—Mr Adams appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Dick for defendant.—After hearing the evidence,'which was very conflicting, his Worship gave judgment for defendant, with professional fee, 21s. John Davis v. Prank Mellish.—Claim £15 15s.—Mr Dick for plaintiff.—The defendant admitted the debt, and judgment was given for the amount, with 19s costs, and. 21s professional fee. .
