RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Friday, 15thDecember. (Before John Buthgate, Esq., E.M.) W. A. Smith v. Francis Crowder,—Claim of L 6 10s, goods supplied. Mr E. Hay appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Joyce for the defendant. Francis Crouder deposed that when he ordered the suit of clothes from the plaintiff, it was mutually understood that one Johnson (with whom Crowder had bet a suit of clothes on the election of Mr Eeoveß as Mayor of Dunedin) should pay for it. Judgment was given for the plaintiff, with costs. Richard Harrabin v. Jonathan Snow.—Claim of Lls, balance of wages and damages in lieu of_ notice of dismissal to the plaintiff and his wife, who had been employed by the defendant at Mosgiel. Mr E. Hay appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Stout for the defendant. His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for LS, and costs.

James Finch v. John Connor. — Claim of Ll9 2s. Judgment was given for Ll4 2s, and costs.

James Pinch v. Coskery and Reid.—Claim of L6O 18s. Judgment for. plaintiff against Coskery only, with costs. Judgment went for the plaintiffs, with costs, in the following cases:—Oliver aud Ulph v. Robert Ayling, L 6 12s; New Zealand Loan »nd Mercantile Agency Company v. Thomas Carrodus, Lls Is 9d; Kirkpatrick and others v. William Popplewell, Ll9 lls 6d; Heeleu, M'Beath, and Co. v. Jamea Smith, L 6 4a 3d ; A. Stewart v. James Wallis, L 6 sa. The Court adjourned till Monday next.
