BAZAAR AT THE UNIVERSITY HALL.
The Bazaar in aid of the Christian Brothers* Schools was opened very successfully at tha University Hall yesterday. Large numbers visited the Hall during the afternoon aid evening, and notwithstanding the many calls upon, the spare cash of Dunedinites during the lasfc few weeks purchasers were found very readily. In fact it was utterly impossible to resist thai wiles of the many fair canvassers for custom. During the afternoon Messrs C. Sykes and A. J. Tow sey performed some very pleasing seleo tions, and the young ladies from the Convent, also played and gang with effect. In the eventing music was supplied by the members of the Artillery Band, who kindly gave their services; Some idea of the extent of the business dona may be formed from the fact that the takings yesterday came to within a pound or two of £340. The stalls are still very well furnished, and no doubt a thriving business will be done during the remainder of the week. In our yesterday's report we omitted to mention that MissiS, Yefmd assists 'at Mrs Ferguson's stall* The Bazaar will be re-opened at 2 p.m. to-day, and will close at 10 p.m.
