DEPUTATION.

A deputation consisting of the Mayor and Town Clerk of Dunedin, and Councillors Walter, Burt, Barnes, and Woodland, waited on His Honour the Superintendent yesterday, in order to bring several matters under his notice. EIRE BRIGADE STATION. The Mayor said that some timo ago the Corporation had received an intimatijn that the Fire Brigade Station would have to be removed from its present site; and steps were at once taken to confer with the captain of the Brigade, who agreed that a most suitable site could be found on the land reserved for a terminus at the Dunedin Railway Station. The Superintendent said that he had also had a conveisation with the captain on the subject. If the request were granted he did not think the requirements of the railway station would be interfered with ; and it appeared to him that there would be no difficulty in arranging this matter. Mr Walter pointed out the necessity of a central site being chosen. ;* Mr Barnes said that a piece of land double the s-ze of the building proposed to be erected would be required, in order to give plenty of room for drying the hose. Close upon 100 feec square would be required., The Superintendent said that ho thought the land could be got at once.
